About Herburg Roses
About Herburg Ethiopia
Herburg Roses Ethiopia operates a modern 40-hectare production site in Batu Town, located south of Ethiopia’s capital, Addis Ababa. From this location, we export approximately 110 million roses annually, primarily destined for the retail market in the United Kingdom. With great dedication, we strive to offer our customers a wide range of vibrant colours and roses with exceptionally large heads.
Our strength lies in sustainability. By producing our roses under Fairtrade certification, we contribute to a fairer world and are able to give back to both our employees and the local community.
In April 2025, we proudly opened our own Herburg Roses Special Needs School. Currently, 42 children receive education here, divided into four classes: children with hearing impairments, visual impairments, intellectual disabilities, and physical disabilities. Our ambition is to further expand the school and eventually provide education to 150 children.
We are also actively working to reduce our environmental footprint. As the first farm in Ethiopia, we measured our footprint using the FloriPEFCR method — the European standard for calculating the environmental impact of ornamental products. These insights guide us in continuously reducing our impact.
